Hello everyone,

Looking for a bit of advise from any plasterers or anyone who knows but moving into a house and seems like the walls are bit thin for my surround sound system.

Can I just get the living room plastered over and it will reduce the noise going through the wall?

You can buy sound deadening foam so it is a case of battening the wall, adding the foam, new plasterboards, then plaster. or the other option is not have it so loud it annoys the neighbours

There is no fun in keeping the noise down

I was hoping not to use the foam as it will obvious reduce the space as its not the biggest lounge as it is. Will dense plaster board and plastering over be any good or waste of time?

you could try car soundproofing which is more dense, band yes of course another layer of boards will help, but you have to try and stop the soundwaves, and solid material isn't very good at that.

Airspace and mass is what is needed. A simple stud work wall, with 18mm of plasterboard will not eat too much into the room space - just secure it top and bottom - not to the troublesome wall, or you will couple that wall back in. Half inch gap between the studs and the wall is sufficient. You will still couple into the ceiling and floor - but if the wall is the real issue, this will help no end!
