Some guy in India has updated his profile to say he works for my business. He doesn't, I work alone, I don't outsource, I've never had any contact with this guy, ever. He "liked" my business page and I've removed him from that but his "about" area on his profile still says he works with me. How do I get this removed? As it's in his about section I can't report it through a link. I can't message him and none of the other Facebook reporting options seem to cover this situation. Any suggestions please?

It isn't spam though. Anybody can say they work for whoever they like. Facebook convert every single piece of data on their platform into a likeable page which can then be used in multiple parts of a person's profile. There really is nothing that can be done about it unless you know someone personally in Facebook but technically, they aren't actually doing anything wrong.

I could write a blog post on the web and say that I'm the new CEO of Microsoft. And what...?

That's the annoying thing about facebook, you could try reporting them but not sure what good it would do. Have you tried contacting the user? maybe messaging him saying you will take things further. Could scare him who knows :)

Best regards,
Matthew

It's just an annoyance really but obviously something I'll have to keep an eye on in case he's passing my work off as his own. However as he claim's he's an interior designer and I'm a web designer then who knows what he'll do.

I can't message him as I'm not "friends" with him.
