So, I read some research that shows people are more likely to buy energy saving products because of the financial saving they can make instead of helping to save the world.

So, I market these lights at people with an income of say £30,000 per year (bearing in mind the first cost of these lights are more than a standard set, but in the long term they are cheaper)

Do you think I am on the right lines here?

(Also, where would I find people (to advertise to them) based only on their income??)

first you need to find out the market, I have never seen a solar powered light that is any good, and they never give off enough light, and on our street are generally thrown away after the first year.

Are they led lights? If you have LED lights they will be brighter, because they produce lots of light with less power

Personally, I don't think an annul income only will be enough to help you choose the target market. There might be many other conditions you need to take into your consideration. For example, how do your lights look? Where people might be using them? Then the question - how much will people pay for something looks like XXX and is usually used in XXX? What kind of people are most likely to buy them?

Yes, you are absolutley on right track! do a little more market research and then work our on the revenue model.. if you see profits on paper, keep in mind that half of what appear on the paper is going to be your profit.. anything more than that is your incentive!

Solar Powered LED lights are good and a bit costly but the light provided by them are the same as compared to non-LED lights.The Power storage capacity is also good and power generation is also the best, depending upon the capacity of the solar panel used.The Normal LED's throws the brighter lights with less consumption but also at the same time the solar powered LED lights provides equivalent light , the only difference is the power source to both of them.

May i ask the reasoning behind the £30,000 per year? You give the impression that your lights are expensive? In general, I have seen a steady rise in the use of solar lights in my area but for no other reason that the street lights are turned off overnight (our council are tight) and with long driveways etc you cant see a thing (semi rural).
