Solar / battery question (domestic)

For all you renewables bods out there, I'd appreciate some thoughts.

We currently have solar panels (16 X 285 watt), and (until it broke) a i-boost for hot water. FIT is 7p (I think)

There are no new iBoosts in the UK at this moment, plus we aren't convinced we benefit much from it.

So instead we were thinking about battery storage, but know precisely nothing about it.

- What variables do we need to consider?
- How big are they?
- How reliable / durable are they?
- Best / worst brands?
- sales tricks to watch out for?

Not a bod, but I guess two considerations would be:

• how much electricity do the panels produce per year (which will obviously depend on site and position)
• what are your power requirements?
