Any suggestion for a reasonably priced tool similar to HMRC online filing for micro entity pre April 2026- some people are still old scholl and prefer to do this way
You could look at companies like:
• Companies House WebFiling (still the cheapest if you’re happy doing it directly)
• Companies Made Simple (very straightforward for micro-entities)
• Inform Direct (popular with accountants and small businesses)
• ANNA Money (more of an all-in-one option with filing included in some plans)

If it’s just annual accounts for a micro-entity, Inform Direct is usually a good balance between cost and usability.

Out of interest, is the main issue the filing process itself, or are you looking for something that also helps prepare the accounts before submission?

Another suggestion for accounts. I used to use it about 10 years ago https://www.vtsoftware.co.uk

I have used VT Transaction+ for a number of years then last year I ditched my accountant and upgraded to VTAccounts (which VT Final Accounts and VT Transaction+) to prepare and file for myself. Just as HMRC were about to close the CT filing service:mad:

You can file to Companies House with VT Final Accounts, but not to HMRC. Some filing packages will import the iXBRL accounts from VTAccounts to save you having to re-enter everything.

VT Final Accounts (but not Transaction+) is a bit klunky in that it requires 32-bit Excel. That meant I had to purchase an 365 subscription as I only had 64-bit software (from a cheap license reseller). I was told last year that they have no plans to upgrade to 64-bit. At least I know have a kosher Microsoft environment :)

Thanks I quite agree it's clunky and I should have clarified it was as a suggestion for accounts only. That was why I asked the OP whether they needed accounts and something to create/file a CT600.

They are not on HMRCs list. Also very expensive for simple submissions from what I can work out.

https://www.sa2000.co.uk/cttaxes.htm is £29.99

I downloaded and used the spreadsheet all the way through to a successful CT600 trial submission without a hitch.

I have now paid for the code to unlock the actual submission process.
