Software for Manufacturing

I have read a few of the posts on here recently about software for managing your business and I have looked (and downloaded) quite a few of them. The one that seemed to come close to what I was looking for was Businessware but unfortunately it only works on one currency and as we do a lot of work in the south of Ireland I need it to be multi currency.

Does anybody have any ideas for software that would manage our internal processes (eg quotes / factory purchase orders / supplier po's / collection notes etc).

Any help would be appreciated. We use Sage Line 50 for our accounts but to get that in multi user is very expensive plus it only allows you to add one line of text for each entry whereas we need to have 5-6 lines.

Thanks

Hi Shaunatsf

Have you looked at Brightpearl? It's an online, integrated Accounting/CRM solution which you can add both Purchasing and Stock modules too.

Brightpearl also allows you to raise Purchase and Sales Invoices in as many currencies as you require.

If you would like to ask any questions about Brightpearl and it's associated costs, please feel free to call me on: 07536 044 949.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Elliot, in the last six days you have posted 14 times and recommended this product 9 times in separate posts. I think we get the message, which is that you have a vested interest and you would hardly recommend anything else. Would you?

I don't like being harsh like this but you are not offering objective advice. You are just using the forum as an advertising opportunity.

Hiya,

I'm not sure if this would satisfy the requirements? http://www.jobshop.planit.com/ They seem to do a rental model now, though It seems expensive - made by the same company who build Edgecam and Radan.

* I used to be a brand manager for Edgecam, but no longer, so nothing in it for me and have no idea if the Jobshop product is any good.

Hope that helps..

Beat me to it bdw, was going to say the same thing. Its getting repetitive, but more important than that you're not giving any helpful advice as you are replying to people asking generic questions, just like this one 'software for manufacturing'. Whilst your product you are desparately and continually plugging *might* do the job the OP wants to know whats out there, not just 1 product.

Have a look at Microsoft Dynamics NAV (there's also SAP and you could talk to Sage too). If this isn't a good fit a custom solution will be required involving initially Excel / Word solution possibly leading to some custom software which would allow better integration with Sage and more advanced features / better performance. A custom solution may well be cheaper than packaged software and do the job very nicely.

Sage CRM ties in neatly with your Line 50 system but again is very expensive.

We always recommend that our clients clarify their business processes before approaching any software vendors so that they can find a system which matches their processes rather than trying to bend the company to the software. Sage CRM does have an excellent workflow system which is quite flexible, but if you are looking to do warehousing, stock levels and shipping you would probably need to look at an even larger (and more expensive) product like Accpacc ERP.

With that in mind, I would like to suggest junariCRM as a far cheaper alternative which is well capable of MRP/Invoicing/POs but beyond that I re-iterate the advice to verify your processes before going any further. Have a look at the blog post here for the advice we give all our prospective clients - the CRM-centric advice applies to any business-process related system.
