    Hi all,

I would really appreciate some advice please.

We are constantly being asked to provide IT support services by our customers and at present we have nothing in place to manage this.

So, looking to all you IT companies, what software is there out there than we could use to manage customers, support requests, orders for new parts, etc?

Not too bothered about it offering invoicing features as we already use Clearbooks for our accounts, but could do with the software keeping a record of prices we've quoted for work/parts.

    Thanks

I have used teamviewer for a number of years to support lots of internal customers but it's expensive. I have recently been looking at screen connect this looks better than teamviewer for outside customers, and as I am moving towards providing remote services to my customers externally I will Likely go to screen connect

And get yourself a 1$ a month zendesk account works great for customer support

Hi, we have had a computer shop for just over 7 years now. We have tried a few different types of software for repair management, but the one we have used for coming up 2 years is really good www.repairtrackingsoftware.com

We have a shop where people come in and book jobs in with us, so works a treat for us for managing repairs, update them through text message, and keeps our part orders organised. It doesn't have any invoice feature though, but we already had an ePos system for all of this.

Office 365 delivers a SharePoint on-line platform that can be configured to achieve all you need from a single, simple to use interface. You can track and update every job from start to completion from any PC, Android or IOS device. You can build in automatic alerts and tasks. You can also link external business applications such as account etc. Most solution elements are code free and run out-of-the-box.
Please note, fox Software is a solutions provider, not a reseller. Contact me for a no commitment discussion or on-line demo.

I'd second Zoho. They make some great cloud-based software without bells and whistles but gets the job done.

    Hi all,

Just as an aside, is this your core business?

IT support is very a specialised and very time consuming business. Trying to mix it with another unrelated business model could be a very tricky process. This maybe ok in the short-term but in the medium-to-long term it could have impact severely on your core business. Just giving you a friendly heads-ups. I've seen way too many business owners diversify into non-related areas and it ends up affecting their bottom-line.
