This post has purposely been posted outside of the IT forum in order to get a view from Small/Start up businesses on its 'worthiness'!

I am in the process of starting up a new area of business in my company providing Global IT Adhoc Software Support by using freelancers I have sourced across the globe, that can provide round the clock support.

The aim of the venture is to recognise the ongoing cost of IT to the Small to Medium Business and try to help provide a one-stop shop and ticketing system that provides a transparent cost effective, professional service. The concept is that small or medium sized businesses who have applications/sites/systems that were developed but no longer in support by the original developers can come to us rather than posting and hoping on freelance job boards, and develop a relationship with a single company and point of contact experienced in Support of applications.

This does present a number of challenges in how this could be successfully acheived, but I wanted to determine whether forum members would consider this a useful service.

Thanks!

It does sound like an interesting concept and if marketed well, i could see customers liking the idea.
The problem lies in how you are going to market globally. Instead of taking on the world, will you be starting in one area and then grow into each area as a step by step approach?
We have 3 IT companies that we work for and they are starting locally with a view to growing nationally. 1 is already established and is national.
All in all i see the need.
Good luck!
