Hi All,

Our site has been performing great up until yesterday.

This whole weekend has been very quiet. Has anyone else experienced a downturn in sales this weekend?

I'm trying to figure out if it's a trend or something wrong with our site.

Thanks,

Beren

I only trade on Ebay, but I have found that sales are always low over a bank holiday weekend. Yesterday (Saturday) was the worst day of the week for me. Today is looking poor to average so far.

I find that sales are best a week before a Bank Holiday. Bank Holiday is rubbish. Then it's back to normal after.

Think of all the people you know. Out of those people you know think how many have gone out somewhere for the day / weekend, them people are not going to be shopping on the internet. BBQ's, weekend breaks, outdoor hobby's, days out, spring fairs etc = less people online = low sales.

Dead as a dodo but looking out of the window the town centre is literally crammed, the sun is out, the yachts are heading out of the harbour and people are sat in the field over the road with ice creams...anyone selling online right now is very lucky, seems like everyones out at the moment.

Thanks all for your responses. Makes me feel better!

We've had 50% visits from mobile devices today. Our conversion rate from mobiles is half of what our desktop version is. Proves when people are out, they still go online.. we just need a mobile site that converts better!

We now sell so much to Europe which is great I have decided I am moving my business abroad. I will be slashing so many costs in doing so, not have to work anywhere near as hard and see 300+days of Sun, cant wait, Its nice how things turn out, so far...............

Its a big move and it might not work, but I have all the contacts from the UK, we can ship items back to the UK in same timescales as UK domestic shipping and prices very similar.

I am going to rent in Spain for a year, close to Alicante and then hopefully buy a place if it all works out somewhere close to Valencia, or if I change my business model slightly and can make it abroad then it may be better long term to be close to Malaga,

I was going to be moving in October but I am seriously considering bringing it forward as we missed out on about 30k of turnover last Xmas as we had to move, I have had to move 3 times in 18 months home and business and I just want to be settled.

I just think we should do it now as in the next 3 months while it feels right, it wont take long to settle but all the hassle of couriers and internet being setup, I dont want to be all over the place come October / November, the summer is not so heavy on our workload so it might make sense to be there ready for when the summer holiday ends.

Looks like we have lots of rain tomorrow, enjoy the sun while it shines and be prepared for a busy day tomorrow.

The best case scenario is that 99% of the country is raining, and you live in the 1% area that it's not raining. Then you get good sales and good weather ;)
