Skype Opinions Wanted

I must say my experiences with Skype Support over the last 2 weeks has been extremely poor.

I've used Skype for a number of years, mostly happy with how I use it and meets my needs but when it's 10 days for a serious support issue to remain unresolved, and 7 days without even a response (apart from the acknowledgement email - so I know it was received!) I have very little to say that's good if you ever expect support from Skype.

The 2 responses I did receive didn't answer the issue and were simply some sort of copy and paste answer without any attention or care given. Not sure how much else I can say, but just test Skype and if you don't think you'll need support from them - you may be ok!

Ive used skype for some time although over the last year I have used it less and less, cjd's comments regarding 999 make for interesting reading. Its ok for calling friends but isnt robust enough for business imho. VoIP can be good if you use a QoS router and have decent bandwidth. I think the bottom line is ebay paid way way over the odds for skype and they must be now thinking if they will ever get a return on their investment. As has been posted everything will be VoIP in a few years once BT switch on their 21CN.

you guys are all crazy, voipfone and skype are expensive, use voipcheap - it's free INTERNATIONALLY and LOCALLY and is about the same if not better quality than Skype. The only problem is that with VOIPCHEAP you cannot get a phone number (but that's what Skype is for), so use Skype for people to call you and Voipcheap for you to make calls.
