Hi all

I work in the care sector where staff are at working in peoples homes without any change over etc. This means that we are at times unaware if a staff member has not turned up and our service user does not have the ability to contact us. we are wondering if there is an electronic system that the staff would scan/log in etc, to indicate they are there and if they have not done so in a set time then we are contacted. It is proving difficult for all staff to contact our on call manager as there is so many.

Would a system like this work? Instead of your managers having to take the calls, the monitoring centre takes care of it.

PS. I haven't used the company in the link, it's just an example.

Yeah something similar.

It would need to be something that can be set up remotely for a set time and staff member to clock in. However after a set time and maybe a safety margin if a clock in has not been made then a person is called to alert to this.

Hope this makes sense.

We do exactly that for our staff, using our automated scheduling system. We also offer the service to other security companies, but it could just as easily be used by a care industry company as the principles are very similar. We have a system where if a guard misses their check in time, then it gets escalated to someone else who then visits the guard to make sure everything is ok. If you are interested contact me

Foursquare - each time a worker arrives they checkin to the venue.
Have your own twitter closed account that is connected so a person gets alerted each time there's a new checkin. That's how I would do it anyway.
