Sick pay

Hello

I am in a pickle. I am a director of a franchise , my franchise is registered as a ltd company and I am the only employee. It is a service providing business

I am off sick, and on crutches until February, I was told I may be sable to claim employment support allowance, I applied for this and the decision has arrived in the post today,

I am not eligible as I am an employee not self employed and I should apply for stat sick pay,

However I am the one that makes the money, if I am off sick, there is no money for me to pay myself SSP

Any advice ? Thank you for reading.

Are you saying there is no money in the business (no cash in the bank) to pay yourself?

I just assumed you paid yourself the ssp as an employee then as the employer you claim it back off HMRC.

SSP is reclaimed from HMRC.
