Shopping Basket Function Required

Can anyone recommend a cheapish and easy way in which I can put a shopping basket on to my website to enable customers to purchase products?

I was looking into Paypal Express Checkout, how would I implement this? Is there any additional things I would need to do for it to work on my website?

Any other recommendations are welcomed

It all depends on how you are going to take payments. PayPal, Authorize.net, Merchant Facility etc...

Wordpress is capable of simple ecommerce. Then for more complex carts you could look at Opencart, Zencart or Magento.

Depends on your web site - but you're probably better off starting from scratch with one of the Open Source options (Opencart, Cre, OScommerce etc), and then designing is to look like your current site. It's something we do quite a bit.

Try tomatocart (open source) it will allow you to take payments via paypal.

How easy is it to install an open source shopping cart like Opencart, TomatoCart, etc? I have yet to get hosting for the site yet, do I need hosting first then install TomatoCart to the root directory through my host?

You will need hosting. Any of our hosting accounts will suffice (excluding Email only, and Starter accounts).

Unzip all the files then upload to your hosting account.

Just to let you know, if you choose the likes of TomatoCart or most other open source (and licensed/paid) carts then you would be able to add us as a payment gateway should you decide to go down the merchant account route.
