Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of lauching an e-commerce business and am trying to decide whether to use Shopify or Shopwired to host this. Does any have any thoughts on if one is better than the other? Or positive / negitive experiances with them?

Thanks

I'll be honest, I've not heard much about Shopwired. I work in ecommerce and I've never encountered a store that runs on it. That doesn't mean to say it's not any good though.

In my opinion, its Shopify all the way.

- Easy to use and manage products
- Lightening quick shopify hosting
- Works brilliantly on mobile (depending on the theme you choose but most are great)
- Shopify are at the forefront of ecommerce and are adopting all new payment types which are plug n play
- Most apps are plug n play so you don't need a developer
- World class industry leader with some huge brands on it like Kylie Cosmetics, Tesla, Red Bull, The Economist, Gym Shark and Skinny Dip.

Hope that helps

Matt

We are using several platforms including Shopwired and Shopify. Shopwired comes with a ton of apps which would cost a fortune on Shopify however you do need to pay for an SSL.

If you want to modify the code then Shopwired makes it very easy. We did this on one of our stores to change the checkout flow and it works great. Some of our products have a huge amount of variations with specific rules, Shopify limited the amount of SKU's so we couldn't use it.

Take a look at BigCommerce as well. They've moved to Google servers with AMP support and it's rapid. There have been some big admin area changes to make it more user friendly.

We have been with shopwired for over 3 years - VERY happy - great product out of the box - can be set up in minutes - awesome customer service - 100% mobile friendly and UK based customer service - all for a price that is cheaper than chips!

We started in 2012 with EKM, tried to get developers to create a bespoke deign for us - wasted 000's and then found shopwired . . . it's a yes from me
