Hi! I am opening a new Bridal store soon and need to find some good quality fittings at a relatively low cost.

With so many clothing stores having shut down I hoped to get hold of some liquidation shop fittings, but have really struggled to find anything.

Does anyone know of any websites or forums where people offer things like this?

I have been on ebay, gumtree, preloved, loot and more...any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Thanks :)

eBay is your best bet, but it is a case of being in the right place at the right time. We've kitted out 2 recent store opening using alot of fittings from eBay (not bridal store, but sure there will be bits available)

Really! Where are you based? I'm in North Yorkshire! I'm opening 3rd March so time is really ticking by too...

I'm looking for wall fittings to hang the dresses themselves on...
I've looked at ladder wall and i'm not a fan, also the building i'm in is very old so not sure how well it would hold the dresses on the wall. I've also looked at clamp and rails- this seems to be the viable option being fixed in 3 places but the rails are only 25mm diam so again not sure how sturdy they would be...

What have you used? I'm worried about the weight mainly and fastening it down.

Thanks x

Fantastic! It's really scary though isn't it? and possibly one of the most expensive industries to get into!!

They're steel and chrome plated...
They do come in 32mm diam but that takes the price up massively.

I could go wall to wall in one bit but I am putting a very large mirror in the middle. Then I have 4 corners to work with...

My building is also very old so I have had to be careful.

I used the same material tube but check the wall thickness as that is what will stop it bending more than the actual diameter. I built a false wall and used that as support in the middle but it may not be possible if you want a mirror in the middle.

Do you mind me asking what you have been quoted for the tube and what length it is as I may be able to tell you a cheaper supplier.

I'm not a great fan of ikea as I hate all the arrows on the floor telling me where to go, but I was there last night and was quite shocked how cheap the shelving was. Useless for heavy duty use but ideal for light use and store room. Just can't bring myself to buy from them - apart from their meatballs in the cafe - yummee
