Shipping times from China by sea

Hello All,

I am just starting a new business and am in need of some advice about shipping things from China.

I am looking at a large heavy parcel (about 20kg and 50cm sq) and I am trying to work out the best way of bringing it over here to the UK.

My supplier has quoted £617 to ship by air and £125 to ship by sea giving me a saving of £492 on my delivery if I choose to ship by sea.

How long will it take for me to get my product here by sea? Do you think it is worth sending it by air?

I've waited 4 - 6 weeks before.

Why not find your own delivery company and see if you can beat their price?

By air, usually quick and safe. By sea, slow and slow. The best way is to find a delivery company with a most competitive price.

By sea charges is low and your products will cost less but it may take 20 to 30 days.

You will need to check which vessel your order is going to go on which will determine the length of time to get to the uk. Normally once ship leaves, it takes about four weeks, be warned though, this time of year you can add a further two weeks due to weather conditions.

Transport by air is very expensive and can take a matter of days. When we have prototypes made for us, we always get them air freighted and the cost is excessive, it pays us to do so to enable us to test the prototype vendors.

The decision ultimately is yours, ie how urgent is it?

That air price sounds expensive.

If you are interested PM me and I could probably do this on an air courier service (depending on it not containing any restricted commodities) for a price closer to the sea service you have been quoted on. Price would exclude any duties and VAT you will have to pay to UK Customs though.

Allow up to 30 days, depending on ports, weather, etc.

Has your supplier quoted you by EMS?
I had an order recently with more weight than that and it was $263 inclusive for 30kg.
5-8 day delivery with EMS?
Maybe worth a look.
Personally i would avoid by SEA as it just takes so long

I suggest you ship it by express as DHL,EMS,UPS,FEDEX ect.
It just take 4-5 days from China to UK.
Can you provide ditail weight and volume so I can quote.

hi man, I think it decide to you,are you need them in ugrently? if you can get them after 1 month, maybe you can by sea but there is a question, how much are clean custom in UK? you must consider all of that fee and compare both of them which is cheaper

Air Freight and Sea Freight shipments will need to be cleared and delivered by a Freight Forwarder in UK, courier price would include everything except Duty and VAT payment.

we usually choose to send by hongkong parcel to the customers
It takes 15 days to arrive you, it's door to door service. so more convenient than by sea which you need to get the goods at the port.
It's a kind of courier service, but slower and much cheaper than DHL,UPS...,

It will generally need 30 days from China to EU. The best choice is use air-sea shipment.
