I'm looking for recommendations for a good share dealing platform for buying selling shares through a limited company. I'm not looking to day trade, I'm just looking for a way to buy shares for medium long term investment while I have spare capital.

I wondered about removing the capital from the business as a loan, then investing through my personal share dealing account, but I'm uncertain of the ins and outs of doing this taxwise. Any thoughts?

buying selling shares through a limited company.

Is this in addition to another trade? If so beware of your company being changed from a trading company to an investment company and the subsequent loss of business asset disposal relief. This can make a huge difference to the tax bill when you sell / close your company.

This is usually classified as a directors loan. There are dangers with doing this, especially if your company fails. There are also tax implications if it doesn't.

Simplest way is to either pay dividends, pay the tax, use an isa or pay from your company into a sipp ( tax relief for company, no tax on you at time of paying in). It depends on if / when you need the funds from the investments.

I use HL Hargreaves Lansdown and found them very good. They give you regular Investment Report. However this is personal but you could ask them about using your company.

I got plenty of advice from all round and eventually started up a SIPP through my ltd. company and I also use Hargreaves Landsdown as my platform. Others such as AJ Bell are available and possibly slightly cheaper. You have a 40k annual allowance but this can be added to by claiming previous years allowances. I just add to it as a company pension as and when. The investment is tied up until you are 55. I'm not sure on the draw down rules but I think the first 25% is tax free then following drawdowns are paid at your personal tax rate. I understand that this is the most tax efficient way of drawing on company profits by way of a self invested personal pension.
