Service Agreement

Hello I am self employed Recruiter with a Service Agreement for 12 months as opposed to a full blown contract and there is nothing stated about working for other companies in the same role, or setting up fully on my own during the 12 months. Does anyone know where I stand please? I am disappointed in the lack of support that is being given compared to what was described and having a 'might as well go alone' moment. I can give 4 weeks notice at any point. Thank you in advance.

If you are not an employee (PAYE etc) so do not owe a duty of fidelity to your employer and if there is nothing in the service agreement saying you cannot do particular things (check - there probably is) then you can as long as you do not use other company's confidential information, customer lists, contacts, intellectual property. The service agreement may say you will provide exclusive services or have a specific non competition clause in it. It will all hinge on what it says.
