I've got one, but it's locked in at a lower amount than that because I've had it a while.

They're offering a free month at the moment so why not sign up and give it a go? Make your own mind up then.

Yes but you only get the free month when you sign up. First month free, then they charge you $99 for the next month, so it's not really a free month.

I have one. It's a useful set of tools. But I am also luckily locked in to a lower monthly fee.

The tools are generally good. They give you a good overview of your online presence as well as your competitors. Easily find your competitors juicy links. There are likely free tools, of varying quality, scattered all over the web, that do the same thing though.

I have an account it did help me resolve an issue i did not know i had, some of the reporting tools are great, saying that i dont think it justifys the $99 per month fee

I would most definately pay a one off for the month to get the reports as and when i need but for me only looking after me its not worth a ongoing monthly $99 fee

I think the only winners are SEO Moz. They have 7500 pro users. Thats a good $700,000 a month. I just think that if they are going to do a trial they should make it a real trial. Not a we will hold your credit card type trial. Thanks for the input guys.

What could be better, is the "Pro" support. You get one private question per month. It usually takes several days to a week to receive a response. I realise they're most likely busy. But if that's true and they're earning 700k a month from pro membership alone, that's a fair whack.

Agreed with the above. The one private question is a pain; if you can make your question a bit more general though and then just take the response and implement it in your own area you can just use two open questions. Although this is certainly not always possible!

I did ask a question the other day and had a reply within 3 hours, which I think must be a record!

What sort of questions do you guys ask? And do you trust them?

I generally use it to get another opinion on a query that I have. Or if I think something should be done, but I can't find any info on it, I have a private forum to bounce my idea on and to pull from experience.

And the answers are generally pretty good and they will nearly always back up their answer with solid reasoning one way or another. And if they're not sure, they'll give you pointers on where to start testing etc.

Im not a fan of SeoMoz TBH, particularly after he started sending crappy mail shots with a follow up like

"sorry, I just realised there was a huge mistake in my previous mail and I just had to mail you all over again to let you know that this fantastic deal is actually 50 cents cheaper"

Was suprised to see the great fish reducing himself to that crap.

I dont rate their tools, nor do I particularly rate their advice. It may work for some ppl I guess.

The only way to find out is to take the trial, credit card or no credit card. At least there is a refund... I test stuff where I have to pay in full with no refund... not nice when you get a dud, but its the only way.

That stuff is crap I agree. But I bet the open rates are massive.

As someone once told me, it's all sizzle and no bacon lol.
Tools, are all well and good but only if the person who uses it knows what to do with the information it gives out.
Also, where it gets it's information from can be an issue and can distort the results.

BTW, I'm talking about all tools here not just seomoz
