Can any recommend a real SEO professional that is familiar with the Panda and Penguin updates?

I would imagine everyone working in SEO would know these two updates as it is more than likely the reason their Uber-Cool SEO Automation machine wont work as well and they are no longer trading

Thanks for your reply. Before April 24, we used to rank page one for most of the keywords in our industry, now page 3,4 or 5.

Referring to the google guidelines in the link you posted:

Avoid hidden text or hidden links. Don´t have hidden links
•Don’t use cloaking or sneaky redirects. ´No redirects
• Don’t send automated queries to Google. Wouldn´t know how to
• Don’t load pages with irrelevant keywords. Don´t do that
• Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content. No
• Don’t create pages with malicious behavior, such as phishing or installing viruses, trojans, or other badware. Wouldn´t know how to
• Avoid “doorway” pages created just for search engines, or other “cookie cutter” approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content. Not that I am aware of
• If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first. What is an affiliate program?

Really do not know why we got hit...

What led you know these terms? E.g have you dropped and this is what your SEO company has said is the reason?

Used and SEO company in the past including link building ourselves. Like I said all rankings disappeared overnight around April 24, this coincides with the Penguin update...

Your big mistake is thinking that either of these google updates do anything more then just select a bunch of sites to downgrade. Odds are that nothing on your site needs changing and if you do change anything it might make it worse.

I stopped thinking Google knew what they were doing a long time ago, I just deal with the effects of their efforts now.

Rather then make changes to existing content, if you think your not doing any google might object to, just add fresh content and try to get that back into the positions that were lost.

It's more likely to be off-site activity that's caused a decline. So basically those links that were making u rank well are probably now being disregarded which is resulting in the dip. Sometimes it's not even you being 'punished' its the strategy/links you were using to 'cheat' google now being flagged and you no longer being rewarded.

I'd be interested to see your site so I can take a look at your backlink profile. Chances are there a number of 'dodgy' backlinks that Google's updates have now taken into account accordingly.
