I was wondering if anyone could help.

I really would love to start up my own SEO business i am not trained at all and i work full time and would love to do a home course does anyone recommend anywhere i can do a training course in SEO

I would agree with using the Google SEO beginner guide. Moz . org is another great resource which also has a much clearer onsite SEO beginner guide and also White Board Fridays which discusses all the latest trends in SEO. Hope that helps.

Sites like this a good for advice but you can really see what works by testing it yourself. The problem with having an SEO business is that many people get spammy emails off indians who dont know what they're doing. Have you done any work that relates to SEO in the past?

I am not advertising this website, is is just one of resource I like,

it is good to start by researching what is seo. Every day for 1 hour and at the end of month, you will get basic idea. After all, can decide do you still want to run seo business as it is not so easy as it looks like.

I remember I tried out lynda.com ages ago It was a great course. But SEO has changed so much so alot of that stuff that used to work won't work like that any more. So you have to be careful what you learn and practice. I would build one authority site which clean and natural links and good content , and then build a few test sites , and start testing some SEO ideas on these test sites. This way you learn with out running the risk of getting your main money site sand boxed by google.

Where abouts are you based?

There are quite a few different physical courses you can attend these days. Not just the online material.

Can I ask what is your day job, if something to do with marketing, web designing or anything close to internet marketing then sure go for it. There are tones of material available on Google and YouTube, just search for it. Not trying to discourage you, but if you have been doing something completely different all your life and now all of a sudden want to start doing SEO, then I'd say think again, is really for you?

You can simply start by checking out google pages, and learn how google and other search engines work. How they find pages and rank them.

Best would be to get a job at a SEO company, as I did when I wanted to start doing this. I found an awesome job, which provided me with the required training. It took me around 2-4 weeks to learn the basics of SEO, and I started by simply making my own website better. and trying to increase the google pagerank.

That's what I advise you to do.

Also you can start by simply finding a nice page that analyses your website and shows what it's missing, then you can read google info pages and fix those problems.
I personally use: freeseoanalysis org (I am new to this site so I can't post links sorry about this) it shows what page is missing, it's not the best thing out there but it's free.
