SEO Rip-Off?

Absolutely!!!

I run a business and we have four competitors in our country. If you google our business and country, you will find either ourselves or one of our competitors at the top of the google rankings.

Neither of us could give a damn about search engine optimisation! Neither of us do a damn thing to 'optimise' anything. We just have good and content-rich sites.

SEO does not equal profit. It does not equal turnover or even (shock-horror) clicks.

All this asinine fretting over SEO is complete and utter hogwash. Google employs people and people have eyeballs and if they think your site is worthy of pushing up the list, that is exactly what will happen.

Wow. Just wow.

HI everyone,
thank you for those who know me well enough to know that this is not in my usual habit. As some one suggested i had a personal issue that has had my full attention. The client who has made a valid and truthful account of the situation but also failed to mention when i quoted and invoiced for the work he took four weeks to respond at which i away for a month and had other (current) clients who had my attention first.
I can apologise for the delay and complete his work wednesday.

Personal issue that had your full attention well clearly not seeing as you still had time to log on to this forum.

If the original poster had not started this thread then you would still have been ignoring his calls.

shameful!

Google is just a robot, plain and simple. 99% of the time all you have to do is give it what it wants (Which is mostly not what Matt Cutts, and the MOZ crowd would have you believe that it wants), and you will be rewarded with better rankings.

This is the first person we have come across who actually understands this point. The trick is not to try and beat Google, that is not possible, as stated, you need to give it what it wants.

Recently Google have moved from bottom-up (time based social media) to top-down (enterprise knowledge based). This means that backlinks, social media are producing less, and high quality-quantity content, top class hosting, single-tld multi-country, high product counts, top platform, are all commanding top spots. As long as the site is 'perceived' enterprise it ranks highly next to the actual enterprise sites.

We know this as we saw a new 30,000product site (Magento CE with off-the-shelf theme and basically zero customisation) list first page Google next to Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, Saks, Amazon, eBay within a few weeks, having 50% of the pages indexed with zero marketing or social media (the hosting architecture was subsequently rolled in to larger solutions) - we get to use some of it which is quite fun, had to introduce crawl delays to slow Google down.

The people who did this come from Large Enterprise environments so knew exactly what Google are looking for technically. You can do the same with business content and social media but it normally takes 5-10x longer. SEO Services are becoming less effective by the day as they are bottom-up time based, and Google can move faster than they can adapt, so except the best of the best SEO Services which will be expensive, it now leads to progressively lower rankings.

Regrettably nothing has transpired, no correspondence by email, phone or personal message on this forum. I must assume that Amjad Ali of Empire Media, Burnley (known as Ali-v-8) has either gone on another holiday or has absolutely no intention of fulfilling his agreement. I have asked for the money back but I expect to get more success at kissing Angels so Ali, please accept my payment as a contribution to the Amjad Ali benevolent fund - hope you choke when you spend it.

Wish I'd seen this review earlier. Amjad Ali - Empire Media SEO and Web Design

Fortunately another forum member has offered his services free of charge (I refused and insisted on payment - why should he be out of pocket because of a snake?) He knows who he is and good on him.
