Hi

I need someone to help improve and optimise our site. I've spoken to 6 companies so far with wildly varying advice and prices. I would appreicate any recommendations you might have and also anyone you think I might want to avoid. I'm finding it a complete minefield!

Thanks
Clare

Yes it is a mind field. There are pretty of guys here on this forum that you can talk to.

I would also suggest you have a look at these guys

http://www.optimaxads.com/

Its just a suggestion by the way. First port of call I would say is UKBF SEO members.

I would also check the accounts who send you a PM/Recommendation a some just sign up for that purpose of poaching work as soon as someone whos an interest in their services.

Who did your initial work?
I assume that you have used more than one company as I can see two techniques used.
I will advise you that whoever takes on your SEO is going to be spending some time correcting and altering the work. Luckily you are using an EKM powershop which will make the task easier.

My guess is the reason that you are having varied quotes is that some will be focusing on link building, article writing...etc (low end) and others will be focusing on restructuring and onsite prior to link building and article writing, but that is just a guess.

Hi There,

Just a thought - Going with a recommendation is dangerous, because if an SEO company does a good job for one client, there is no guarantee they will do a good job for you.

Best advice is selecting an SEO company that knows something about your industry - that way they can use their knowledge with their linkbuilding skills to get you from A to B

What kind of industry/business sector are you involved in?

Would recommend you contact David at Makeusawebsite.

It is a minefield out there with SEO companies promising this and that and I have used a few over the past 3 years but I have used David since July this year, for both my own site and client's sites - I am extremely happy with the price, the level of service, the results etc and as such would highly recommend him!

Good luck
Joanne

And proper SEO's will have a core practice which be applied to all industries (almost all) your are working with a search engine in the same way with any industry only difference is, competition (excluding adult/gambling websites)

Well of course, but that has nothing to do with my statement about taking on competing customers :)
