Hi all,

For years I've been using a site called Instant Position and their SEO tester to rank how well I've optimised my title tags, meta tags and description etc.

However and quite sadly the site no longer works.

Has anyone else found this?

Also if anybody has any good alternatives to this then please let me know, all help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

There is only so much can be got off this sort of tool.

The best information they tell you is about your titles of pages which should all be different - if your page redirects to www or to non www - the rest is pretty useless informationn to be honest.

What is it you think that tool was telling you that was helpful to you each time you used it?

I agree. Tools can be useful only to certain extent and its the manual analysis/work which really brings the difference. Just an example (related to my area). Go to Google.com and search for "Forex Trading". I will refrain from naming but you will find sites on the first page which hardly have even a 100 visitors a day. You can get an approximate idea by Alexa. And combine this with the facts that the searched term is used a few million times in a month. Wonder why? Well, the description which comes out on the search page may not really be catching the eye

I agree entirely and I'm aware of the array of other work that's needed for SEO purposes. However, I particularly liked this tool because it was very clelar and concise about keyword density etc and made structuring everything relatively easy.

Entirely in agreement that it's only one small aspect of SEO though

Any idea of an alternative to this tool? Cheers
