Semrush is used by seo and digital marketing professionals mostly PPC in this regard.
You can set up a single domain as a project which will then get you more detailed analysis of your website. However that stuff really isn't that useful for an seo guy who should know all that! You can do you audit and project one one site for a month and then switch to the other when you have finished with the first. It's a great tool to get the feel for what seo is. In fact I prefer MOZ for beginners which shows better what to do to make your site rank higher.
For an seo pro they will be interested in link profiling (links pointing to your site) did you go on fiverr and pay for SEO! OOOPS...probably a link cleanup and detox needed. Also you can get an idea of where to get backlinks from competitors.
Just know that these tools are investigation tools mostly, I suggest if you don't know what you are doing to just get your website perfect as much as you can and invest the semrush cost with a pro instead. If you want to learn SEO then cool, go for it and DIY but be prepared for some time investment and a lot of reading between the lines.

Yeah, I like SEMrush for one thing - predicting traffic. Everything else can be better served elsewhere. To be honest, you could argue Ahrefs now has more accurate data in regards to predicting traffic.

SEOpowersuite is a tool I love, and most professional SEO's tend to use.

You can run more than one site on SEMRush, but there are many cheraper tools out there and as you become more familiar with the subject of SEO you'll realise there are many parts of the work that can be undertaken with nothing other than an open instance of Google.

I love SEMRush and they've added a number of features over the last couple of years so that they don't just report on rankings, but backlink profiling, brand mentions , on page SEO audits... Not cheap but worth it. You can set up a number of websites to track, or use a simple search if you want to check out your competitors' sites. Definitely more than a tool for PPC!
