Hello,

I run a small business as a sole trader and am not VAT register (or even close to the threshold).

My question is, do I need to do anything other than add a CN22 or CN23 declaration to pacages?

Pretty much not, actually.

You do need to be aware of the fact that, on high value packages, the recipients could be liable for some import duties, though.
Thanks, Paul.

Is there a threshold I need to keep in mind or is it one of those depends on the item type duty situation like other countries?

My average package value is sub £200 and only really go over that sending to some distributers a few times a year (but think about it they are in the US and Japan, so not an issue).

Yes, for postal exports simply continue to attach CN22/23, noting there are now two variants depending whether you use a tracked service or not.

Most countries, IMHE, don't have the crazy low thresholds that the UK has for import duty.
