Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience of selling to boutiques. We currently have our own leather handbags e-commerce store but would like to sell to small boutiques at a reduced trade price. We're still very small so would like to start off small i.e. not contacting a whole list of boutiques in one go or anything like that.

What's the best way to approach them? What should we include in our terms and conditions? Does anyone have any tips on what works well, or similarly , what we should definitely avoid doing?

Grateful for any advice on this.

Thanks for the suggestions. At first i thought about creating an email which would give a little bit of information about our company and contact details and attaching a catalogue, then following up a week or so later with a phone call.

Is this the right way to go? Am conscious about walking into the boutique in case it's really busy and therefore they done want to know. Could be a missed opportunity?

tailor each email to the boutique in question, ie make mention of some feature about them that attracted you to them and definitely follow up with a phone call. try and establish who the owner/ buyer is so you can email them directly and know who to ask for when you follow up.

I think the best way forward is to walk into boutiques and introduce yourself and your products. Many people are not responsive to emails as they sometimes get so many a day. It's better to face the possible embarrassment whilst trying get your products out there, it may be worth it in the end.
