I run a few businesses which have in the past complimented each other well (we provide a service to people, and then sell products online which the customers may be interested in, but also selling online to customers without providing the service), however i am at this moment in time looking to restructure as one is taking off more then the other so i'm looking to sell the online store.

where and how would i go about doing this? it's not a massive earner, turnover less then £10K in just under 2 years, but it's a website set up and taking orders with stock etc.

I've used this website to successfully sell two businesses: http://uk.businessesforsale.com/

You'll need to be able to provide accounts for that one business so take some time to separate the accounts for it before you list your business. This is what I had to do last year with the sale of my fashion retail business and I had my accountant verify the data.

There seem to be a lot of tyre kickers/nosey parkers, but you can spot them by the generic questions like 'what's your profit' and then nothing more. Spot the genuine buyers when they ask a few more questions. Obviously you'll want to provide enough information about the business without going into too much detail e.g. if someone asks who your suppliers are, tell them that info will be provided after the sale is complete.
