Hi All,

We sell a professional writing service. And have been looking to expand aboard.

However, it appears that if we charge the same rate as the UK, we simply do not give value for money. This seem to be the case with writing for people in the USA Australia.

Generally are all English people countries the same? Are there any countries that are cost effective to offer services?

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

We writer and produce the work here in the UK (our service could be proofreading, or editing etc), however we would like to start to see aboard. But, we find that by the time you convert the currency it makes our service very expensive. Yet, in the UK we give good value for money.

Hey,
I provide the same service to both the UK and the US at the moment and found that it was more expensive for those in the US to use my services. In order to combat this I literally took my UK price say £8.50 and changed it to $8.50 for some rates, while some rates I did a proper currency conversion and then reduced it by 20% It all depended on the service I provided.
Maybe do something similar, find your lowest rate you could offer for the service and convert that making it value for money over seas or change your £ to $ on your price lists.

Hope it helps

I'm a freelance copywriter and I have clients in the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and some european countries. My prices are what I charge my clients in the UK, regardless of where in the world my other clients may be. If you can consistently produce a high standard of work people will pay the price. Quality is not negotiable.
