Hello

I am self employed and running my own Gardening and Landscaping business at the moment.I registered with HMRC on January 2013.I am earning about 5-6K since January.I have many clients but i don't work many hours yet.

I realized that my clients and many people around complaining about prices of garden centers.Thats why i spoke to my clients and ask them ''if i sale gardening products (as compost, bark, weedkiller, fertiliser...etc) would you buy from me?''.They are very happy to buy from me as free delivery and i have good relations with them :)

i found self storage container for hire (£25 weekly). And i am going to spend £1500 for first order for my stock.

( I am self employed.Earning 5-6K a year.Naturally I am not VAT registered.I am going to buy and sell gardening products. When i buy products from wholesaler i am going to pay VAT and I ll pay VAT for storage container as well.)
My question are ; How can i claim for VAT if i am not registered?

This is my first business and i need really advice.I hope someone who is self employed and trading together can give me support with information.

Thanks for your time to read
