Seeking Business Coach or Mentor

I am in Swindon, Wiltshire.

I need to contact an overseas company to negotiate permission to manufacture my different application of their product and to sell that variation in the UK and elsewhere.

It is outside my experience to do this and I need some guidelines as to how to approach them and how to respond to their reply.

Manufacture and retailing of the product is also beyond me.

Would be grateful for tips as to how I could find someone to ‘ talk me through it ‘, short term or long term.

Have you tried your local chamber of commerce? They generally offer advise import / export so they may be able to help. Or speak to your accountant - they usually have lots of consultancy connections so they might be able to point you in the right direction.

I agree with the two points above. I am a business mentor with clients in 3 countries and use skype so location is not an issue. I would have to check with a few contacts in import and export and manufacturing if you were my client. You do not need a coach.

Our local chamber of commerce has programs setup to deal with these issues. You don't have to be a member to use them, you just pay full price. I believe that would be your best route to go down. But if you ever did need a coach or mentor........ lol.

How different is your item? Are you sure you require permission? If the change is enough then you might need to look at securing this.
