Hi

I would like some advice on recovering some money from a item that I purchased a number of years ago and had been in use by an organisation without my knowledge.

In august 2009 it was brought to my attention that my work was in use and I had notified them of this and they had responded however it had continued until august 2010 until they partly removed my work (there is still parts today on there webspace).

I wish to recover some money lost for this unauthorised use of my copyrighted works. For your information please see the following (my name is Duport):

webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=976522

Can any one please help me with this, advising me a solution to recover an amount of money I feel is appropriate. The defendant is in the USA.

7 days ago requested £300 which I felt was very reasonable to close the case however the 7th day has passed and they have not responded. I believe my case comes under the "Intellectual property"?

Thank you

I guess the laws for the US and UK are very different concerning Copyright theft.

The real problem is how far are you prepare to go in terms of expense??

You say you bought the item, so its not something that you've created, have you go the copyright on that or the creator??

Sometimes you can by a web design off the net for $100 but about 500 other people all around the world have probably bought the same design. if you wanted that design for just yourself then you'd probably be looking at paying $1000

See what i mean, because we don't know what it is, its hard to be able to advise, but if the guy is in the USA its gonna be expensive for you to do much about it, How far are you willing to go ?
