Hi,

My initial 'assault' on the market would be based around the Thames Valley area - which is a tough area to break into of course, given the level of competition.

That said, if someone contacted me from Newcastle with a great prospect, I'd start talking Geordie !

Not anywhere near the hiring people stage yet - still very much up on the drawing board along with various other projects - but if I needed too, only requirement is that the person can get an SIA licence.

I am working in a Irish security company now, and planning to move to UK. So would you please tell that I should have UK citizenship to join security company there?

The SIA website answers a lot of questions that may be of help. I could not put a link for you as I have not done 15 posts or more but if you do a search for SIA or Security Industry Authority it should come up. It is a home office department.

You do not have to be a UK citizen to get an SIA licence but I believe you have to prove you are entitled to work here such as a work permit or a visa.

An SIA licence is the Security Industry Authority and to apply for a licence if it is frontline you have to prove what training you have done and I think send in certificates, send in relevant identification and a full Criminal Records Bureau check is done and if all is good they will grant a licence. The SIA licence is neccessary as to work without one where the law states one is required can result in a custodial sentence.
