I am just starting out running a dress agency in the Ribble Valley! I have put an offer in on a shop lease and hope to find out the outcome of that tomorrow or Thursday.
I've been thinking this through for quite a while now and have done lots of research; I've rung existing agencies that are nowhere near where I live and talked to them about their experiences and have gained lots of valuable knowledge. I have also talked to friends and parents at my daughters school and the consensus is that there really is a good market for this. As long as there isn't a similar competitor within a stones throw of where you want to be, charity shops are not really a threat.
I was wondering if anyone could share any advice with me, specifically about:-
Free Business Banking
Encouraging footfall
A suitable till/EPOS system
PPL/PRS licence Vs Sky subscription for playing music
Suitable coffee machines for browsing clients
Company who specialises in cleaning wooden floors to remove dirt and scratches
Business insurance (contents, glass window, public liability etc)
Advertising/advertorials and who's best in the Ribble Valley to get the message across
A Board manufacturers
Canopy signwriters
Carrier bag manufacturers
I would also be keen to speak to anyone who sells/makes handbags, jewellery, accessories that may be interested in a shop concession.
