Second Hand Childrens Wear Boutique?

HI everyone, just wondered if there was anyone on here who owned a second hand shop? Just looking for some advice.
My new idea is to set up a shop selling second hand designer baby/childrenswear. I have little finance to put in to it, so am wondering about starting out with a market stall?? My idea relies on the feel of the shop so it can feel like a boutique shop, so not sure how this would work on a market stall.

My dream has always been to open a baby boutique but realise in this economic climate that this not be the right time, so have adapted to a second hand boutique after buying a few items myself from ebay.

Thanks

Sharon

I think this idea is not going to work.
Children are most important for me I am not going to buy used cloths for them.

Lots of people are buying used baby clothes online, whether they can afford to buy new or not.
Little ones grow so quickly, it is pointless spending a fortune on every item of clothing they have just because it is new.

I personally would join the famous UK based mums forum and various others and run polls, discuss with members whether or not they would actually go to the high street for this.
And the old stand on the street you want to be on and ask the pram pushers the same.

I think if it was a shop that sold the designer baby gear 2nd hand and obviously cheaper then some would consider it. Only the other week the DM(it thinks it is still a newspaper), was cooing over some baby's $230 shoes, the baby could not even walk.
Oh and I probably would not used the term '2nd hand', 'preloved' conjurs up a whole other bean eating vibe. Bean eaters would flock to you, potentially.

The problem is that high street children's clothes are so cheap now and the quality and design good, that the designer market has shrunk considerably. Your problem will be finding enough stock to sell.

You would be better off selling second hand pushchairs, cots etc. rather than just clothing.
