Search method disparity on google

Hello,

I've had my web site for about 3 years. I built it myself and did my own optimization. Its full of high quality unique content, and on the specialized searches I'm always on the first page. On the more generic searches however, I don't seem to appear at all, at least not in the first 50 pages I've bothered to look through. The point I don't understand is that for the very same searches on images I'm always near the top of the first page. Could someone please explain this massive disparity between the 2 search methods, and perhaps advise me on how to resolve this problem.

Image search is about images and web search is about overall content and importance of the site as a whole. That is the reason for the disparity.

Although I am sure you know that.

How to resolve the problem is a piece of string question. What market are you in (niche), what links do you have pointing to your site?

Well you have to do some research regarding the keyword you use in your pages, do some keyword analysis you used.
