Screen capture software

Can anyone recommend software for capturing my screen to product how-to videos on how to use a website feature please? So I can talk over it, and has that indicator come up when you click the mouse so you can see where I am clicking?

Found camstudio free for PC. Any mac alternatives?

I use screenflow on the mac, not free but damn good at what it does.

I Use CamStudio

You select what you want to record ( a window or an area ) , save it as MP4 and upload to youtube.

Nice and free, No watermarks etc.

Two bits of software I have found to be epic are
CamStudio ( As mentioned ) as its just easy.
And "Snippet tool ++" , Its like windows7/8 snippet, but auto uploads the image to imgur for easy access!

Always in my toolbox they are. Along with SuperPutty and Notepad ++

The free version is pretty good and lets you export to a few standard formats.

Also have used the pro version which lets you edit the videos after you create them, add comment pop ups and other clever stuff.

If you have a Mac running one of the recent releases of OS X, you can actually record your screen for free using the Quicktime application which is built in.

Just open up quicktime and go to File and then New Screen Recording

Fraps is a good screen capture, you can get a trial or the paid version which is extremely cheap and has great optimization.

Yup, Fraps is quite intuitive, you can get a recording out of it even at 80 fps and it won't cost you extra space on your drive. For short presentations, tutorials, DIY type videos it's sufficient.

If you are using a new desktop computer and have a Nvidia card fitted you could use the shadowplay feature. Its meant for gamers but it also has a built in, easy to use and free desktop capture ability, its a very good application.
