got the email below which looks iffy to me.
Normally I would ignore this but it is for very specialised items with no real resale value

I will like you go ahead and email me the total cost of my order alone without the delivery charges. Regarding the delivery, i have a shipping agent in UK & SPAIN that will be able arrange for the pickup at your location and they will also provide the necessary paperwork for local custom and duties for the shipment.

I have inform the shipping agency about this and they told me the best way to come for the pick up in your store is for you to email me with the information needed below,

* Your Company Name and Address ?
* Time the package will be ready for pick up with your convenience time and date?
* Contact Person for the pickup arrangement ?
* Telephone Number ?
* Weight of the package and how many boxes are they ?

So, please kindly get back to me with this details along with the total of my order and the types of credit cards you accept for payment!

This is an age old scam. they will use their shipping agent (for this read mate) they will pay you with a stolen payment method (card or cheque) normally checque. you then pay the 'shipping agent' .

in the future the bank will realise it is a stolen cheque, the money will be reclaimed, and you are out of pocket for the goods and the money you paid the 'shipping agent' .

Looks like a scam from the non personalness of the email.

I do order from a company where I arrange collection but my email doesn't look quite so uniform and I certainly don't ask which credit cards they accept - I think this bit gives it away as a scam.

LMAO oh dear this is usually prevalent on sites like uk astro buy and sell but I haven't seen it used with an online store as the target. They must have had an English tutor recently as you can usually "hear" the \nigerian accent in the email :D

Cheers for all the replies.
I emailed back & said no problem, but your agent will have to pay cash on the day.

Its rather strange as the items they want are very specialist and would be hard to resell, unless they can find some lactose intolerant punters.
