Sales - multi level marketing

Hello,

Are there any agencies or websites where I can find people who would be interested in selling products as part of multi level marketing?

I am obviously aware of all the potential complications, but it is an actual product and it is not a pyramid scheme. I made sure to read and understand all the differences prior to even starting to think about this all.

I am not sure how one can start from absolute zero in this area. I guess that once more people know about multi level marketing companies / products the network will grow organically, but is there any way that initial sales representatives can be approached?

Thanks!

None that I know of, and I doubt your MLM company would want it done this way. The whole idea of MLM is to recruit more people, who then go on to recruit others etc. Whether it is a product or service does not change the chance it could be a pyramid scheme.

I knew a guy who did well in MLM, and he talked to everyone he met about the “opportunity”, to the extent family and friends avoided him like the plague. He got lucky, recruited a guy who went on to recruit 200 odd. He himself only ever recruited 20 people over several years, but became a millionaire by doing so.

The problem you will find is, most people recruit just 1 to 2 people on average, they lose heart very quickly and give up. Selling the product is the easy bit, but recruiting is where the money always lies.

Are you looking to sell your own product via MLM, or have you joined one?

As has been alluded to, the vast majority of people in MLM pyramids produce/earn virtually nothing

The "skill' (to use the team loosely) is leverage your product to sell an opportunity (its nigh on impossible to earn a living by selling product under MLM)

There is no shortcut or assistance in building the network - that's the job you create for yourself

I have seen MLMs wreck so many relationships and lives I would say avoid. The only people I see making any money are ones that get in very early. I know of one person who built a team of 1000 people underneath her and gave it up as she was working 18 hours a day and only making minimum wage.

One of the top people in another MLM posts around 20 times a day..... and her go to shop is Primark!

Just to add to my initial reply, it was early, I did once do some work for a very well known UK MLM. They initially had your idea, recruit salespeople and let them live on the commission, but it was nowhere near enough for professionals to survive on. I knew the National Manager, he had invited myself too the launch of the MLM, but I wasn’t interested.

I suggested a different deal, a flat rate amount per new client. My guys (15 pros) were too successful, if that sounds a bit strange, it is. Put simply, their business model couldn’t cope with our level of sales, it was geared to having new money from people “investing” in their business model. Their agents averaged 3/4 sales per week, my guys averaged 30 per day.

We worked with them for six to nine months, but their normal people began to wonder how we were getting the levels we did, and wanted to go onto a similar deal as ourselves. Hence we parted ways, many years ago.

I know one person who made money from MLM,

My great uncle knew the person who was top of the tree for tuperware in canada and rented him a barn to keep stock in, that became more than 1 Barn and he kept the rent rolling in. He did very well out of it (a long time ago)

Conversely when we had just left uni my wife worked in the offices of a lot who sold a product called dry wash & guard via mlm, she was packing up demo boxes and sending to "distributors". Don't think even the uk founder made any real money
