We're looking for software to analyse sales patterns has anyone had experience is using such software?

Whilst I'm on a similar subject, does anyone use sales stats wallboard's in their office?

Hmm..lots of options here depending upon:

• What format the data is available (CSV, XML, Etc.)
• How the data can be accessed (Database, Excel, Etc)
• What 'sales patterns' you want to analyse
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly/quarterly/yearly
  • Dimension options By product/area/sales agent
  • Etc.
• How will the report be accessed/viewed
  • PC/Mobile/TV in office

Depending upon the above, one can use Excel, HTML, Graphical Charts and Graphs, Etc. to present the Wallboards.

We have developed custom Wallboards for a client by using open open source technologies. In total there are about 10 Wallboards which combine data from a variety of back office applications and show a 'simplified' view on their TVs across the office. There is also a scheduler element that automatically Emails the important Wallboards to the management everyday.

• The data can be exported from the SQL database as a txt / csv file.
• I'd like to be able to track daily sales stats on a wallboard for the office sales team and also monthly sales stats for management and road sales.
• Preferential dimensions would be by product group and sales agent.
• I'd like to have a wallboard for the sales office to track daily on a TV. I'd also like it accessible remotely for the sales guys on the road, possibly integrated with SugarCRM?

Based on the above info,I think its would be worth exploring the option for developing custom Wallboards as any off-the-shelf software like qlik, Crystal Reports, Etc would require significant effort for configuring and integrating it as per your requirement.

Do you currently use an accounting system? Thats the best place to start as that will already have all your sales info.
