Hi all,
I have a question regarding customer records in sage. I have taken over someone's sage accounts and want to change the customer a/c codes but not sure if there is a way. The previous accountants allocation of codes was not very good - they just added to the customer codes with no real thought of the future. eg they would start customers starting with say S as S001 then S002 then S003 etc so if they had customers Smith, then Sandy then Steve they would have coded them in that order so the list is Smith, Sandy,Steve as S001,S002,S003 so with many more customers its not easy to quickly see the customer as the list is not alphabetical. What I would like to do is change the codes to SMI001, SAN001, STE001 so that to find customer Sandy for example i just enter SAN and go straight to the customer record. Any ideas anyone?
