Hi All

If you are thinking of upgrading your sage and you use the project costing - DON'T

Yes I know capitals are shouting and yes I do mean it!

There is a major issue with the project costing which can't be fixed unless you send the data back to sage (five day wait to get it back) or you restore back to the previous version and re-process transactions.

I can't believe I've fallen for the "there are no issues with this version" again......

I hate them..........

Hi John

The project audit trail has a problem. In our case on conversion it should have recognised transaction 16928 as the last transaction, instead it invented a new one of it's own 3136 - which is actually situated in blank space where old transactions have been deleted. So although the original transactions are still there they don't show on the activity because sage thinks the last transaction is 3136!

I realised we had a problem when I went to run my week end reports and they were jumbled up.

I have had a major issue with sage 2011 project costing - it is bringing through some audit trail items twice hence all the totals are incorrect and meaningless - after spending 2 hours on the phone I got told that they knew there was a software bug, they had sent a fix but it doesnt work retrospectively - so all my data is buggered (excuse the french!) so luckily had sage cover extra and they have took my data off for repair ( 3 working days) if no sage cover extra then you have to pay £600!! to correct -how can Sage justify that when its problem with their software -

So be warned, check your data thoroughly - sage can not be taken to be correct.

I think you've have 2 seperate issues here which have combined to give the results you have seen:

1. Clearly there was a bug with the report that made the transactions show twice which has now been fixed. It is important to note though that the problem with the report meant that transactions were showing twice even if there was no data corruption at all which was the case with the poster on the other forum.

2. If, as you've said, your data was actually corrupt and required fixing (and there are much cheaper ways than Sage to get data fixed :) ) then it is likely that, even if there had never been a bug in the reoprt then you would have still had problems as the data was corrupt.

I had a similar problem where purchase orders entered after we upgraded to sage 2011 were being duplicated on the committed costs report, yet only appeared once in the project record.

I ran update 2 (to be on the safe side) and then reindexed the two project files and it fixed the problem.

This must be a bug in the software as never had a problem on sage 2007 - everything worked fine before we upgraded and check data did not reveal any problems before upgrading. How can sage charge to fix data when the problem clearly lies in the new version!

Spoke too soon on this!

For some reason I have to keep re-indexing to get the cost code report to produce up to date data. When a purchase order is cleared by putting an invoice on it should come off of the committed costs report and now appear on the cost transactions by cost code report - but it doesn't. If you click on the project and click on activity it shows the correct position. It comes off of the committed costs report. But it does not appear on the cost code report.

So I tried reindexing again and hey presto it appeared! Do I really have to reindex daily for sage to update itself or is there something else I should be doing?:|

Hi all,

I recently had problems with Sage Instant Ver.11 payroll. I was trying to print monthly P32 and the software could'nt find any data to print reports. Now I have uninstalled the sage and installed it again, the software is saying "Your existing data i version 15 instant. Instant payroll cannot upgrade this data." Please help.
