Hi everyone,

We are manufacturing products using materials bought from our suppliers. Our suppliers provide their Safety Data Sheets. What we need to do is then produce our own Safety Data Sheets which take into consideration all the constituent materials and provide our own contact details etc.

Please could someone advise as to the best way to go about this? Is there an online service to product them low-cost? I could of course manually write them but I want to ensure we are fully compliant.

Thank you.

Rob.

You're opening up a minefield here. We use Chemsoft, which is expensive and a pain to use. You could use a third party to produce them for you (we use The Reach Centre https://www.thereachcentre.com/site/content_hazard_communication.php) from time to time, if we aren't confident in the results we get from the software. I'd expect to pay around £1-2k for each product.

Are you sure that after you manufacture your product the properties of the raw materials are still valid? For example if, during your manufacturing process, you drill several holes in a metal plate its properties will change.
