Russia shipping problems

I have a Russian customer who is complaining that her parcel has not arrived. I have tracked it on the Russian post office website which shows that the parcel has been delivered.

In the meantime, I have heard from our post office that they are no longer accepting any parcels to Russia for the forseeable future. Apparently this is because no parcels are getting through because of security fears surrounding the Winter Olympics. I can't find anything about this on the RM's website or latest international events bulletin.

If anyone can point me in the direction of some official guidance from the RM I would be grateful.

Hi
We sent a couple of parcels to Russia last week or the week before, but our mail is collected but would have thought we would have had the parcels returned by now if they weren't sending them as we had one returned before going to Portugal I think which was 1cm too big!

Do you mind posting the url you use for tracking them please as that might come in handy for these two. I know customs in Russia have backlogs and if you don't claim parcels then they just destroy them so some customers have had to put in a search for them but they do get them eventually.

Thanks
Lianne

I would be interested to see if the parcels you sent last week arrive safely in the light of what I was told this morning.

I tried typing the International signed for numbers into that site but it just said invalid code? I tried with and without capital letters and in both boxes. This site http://www.trackitonline.ru/ only shows "send item abroad" and Moscova on the 25th at 00.00 for both parcels but they were sent a few days apart. They are both going to Saint Petersburg so guessing they haven't arrived yet? I usually say allow a month for them to arrive so aren't panicking yet.

oh that's what that box means! it works now but says no data available, please try again later, so will just have to wait and try again in a few days.

I tracked an old parcel that was delivered months ago and it showed all the tracking info and showed the post office as Moscova so hopefully it's just in a queue at customs.

strange that yours says delivered though, mine have had to go and collect theirs before, maybe send them down to their local post office with the number?

Russia is set to be a country to whom you can no longer ship. We have, historically, had a reasonable number of orders in Russia, and a good success rate of delivery.

However, with increasing complexity and uncertainty around deliveries there, we shall be withdrawing it from our site.

Back to the original question, you will have to refund, sadly.

Hello Paul!
We recently opened a postal service in Latvia for parcel delivery in Russia. Work with China, Europe and the United States. We have a formal agreement with the Post of Latvia and Russia. Any city in Russia on uniform rates. Parcels fall into the postal system of the Russian Post and delivered to the recipient in Russia without additional customs formalities. If interested, write to me:

Latvian post works very well. Besides, it's cheap. Since the start of treatment in the Post of Latvia, until when the parcel begins its journey to the recipient in the territory of Russia, takes no more than 24-36 hours.
