Running a Business from Garden Log Cabin

My wife runs a mobile beauty salon, however we are keen to build a log cabin in our garden so that she can run the business from home.

I've heard/seen a lot of contradicting factors as to what I need, who to ask and what I actually need planning for. I don't need planning permission for the log cabin as it's within the size regulations.

What I need to know is what permission/planning I need from a "business from home" perspective. I've reached out to my council but have not heard back yet.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Regards

James

Clients coming and going could p*ss the neighbours off, if they complain enough you will be shut down.

You need planning permission for change of use from residential to commercial use, something you are unlikely to get permission for.

I know plenty of people who do what you propose, but there is a risk involved, you are in the hands of your neighbours.
