Royal mail tracked vs parcel force

I've been on ppi and parcel force for the past few weeks and was getting the hang of it. Packetpost if I could keep averages below 750g and the heavier items - usually 3kg upwards via parcel force.
Parcelforce 48 price is £7 for Upto 30kg and my packets work out at about 2.30 each.

Today my access for royal mail tracked came into effect, and it appears my price is set at 2.65 per item on the 48hr service.

I think the tracked is ok for up to 15kg but im not sure. Im also not sure about what size items can go tracked.

My question is, should I now use royal mail tracked for the items up to the weight limit of tracked (what is the limit) and just use parcel force when its above the limit?

Any help and advice would be great.
And tips from people using both services.

I think the dimensions for tracked are the same as normal Royal Mail. But check. The weight is I think 10Kg. The problem with tracked is that the price will go up considerably if you do not use it for at least 5,000 packets a year. That said there is nothing to stop you using it for the first quarter.

The second problem with tracked is that the customer does not have to sign for it. Thus some idiots assume that there is no record of delivery and say it never arrived. Of course there is a record and when you tell them the actual delivery time to the minute they soon "find" it. The rate of claimed "non arrival" worked out about double the rate of ordinary post "non arrival" go figure! But they all backed down.

You can add signature required for 30p extra.

    Hi

RM tracked is up to 15 kgs but your Tracked price will have been based on a specific average weight when it was set up. If you shift this average up RM may come back and review the rate. You can check the impact yourself by using the pricce tool on the RM site. It makes sence from a cost point of view to move as much as pos with RM but you won't get the same tracking as Parcelforce 48 and their q of s on 48 is pretty close to 100% nationwide.

    Max dimensions on Tracked are 46 x 46 x 61.

No extra charge for Saturday delivery on Tracked and no zone charges.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers for that.

The problem with standard tracked is the 48hrs I think. First gets there next day most of the time. According to the tracking yesterdays parcels are still at the hub.
I think id rather the next day service than the tracking data now.

What would make you use tracked over packetpost 1st class?

Hi, to track a package is very easy. If a package can be tracked, it must have a tracking number. So if you are given a tracking number, like parcel force tracking number, then you can track it on parcel force tracking website. I know trackingmore.com support this.
