Hey guys, i just read about a potential strike happening at royal mail due to them selling shares or something.Im just letting you know that, they maybe a strike in the next 2 weeks.

Snipped from the Times Newspaper :
ROYAL MAIL has warned that a national strike by postal workers could have a "materially adverse" effect on the success of its £3bn stock market listing and may cause the price of shares to "fall significantly".

Do you think this will affect our businesses, to those of us who use royal mail to deliver our products?

I have no idea whats going on though lol, which is why im asking if anyone in here knows whats going on ?

I have no idea why they are striking, i dont really have an interest in royal mail or the government tbh, i find it boring and time consuming, although i do care if its going to affect our businesses.

Just a heads up.

You really need to read a proper newspaper...the problem with news feeds etc is they tell you about what you are interested in and dont cover all subjects. Very bad idea for business. you need to be up on all news.

Basically the government is flogging the royal mail. they need a load of investment and the government is not willing to do it.

having the government run anything is a really bad idea. However the mail unions have known for years that they can do what they like because everyone loves the lovely old post office...thats why they dont have modern kit etc that would be more efficeient. As long as the government makes sure they keep to agreements to deliver next day everywhere it should all be seamless.

At an agreed & reasonable price

Generally I am pro privitisation, but I do have reservations on this one, as I fear it will go the way of buses, where the city-based masses get good cheap service and those in rural areas suffer.

Still, it is out of our hands now..

The RM is riddled with socialists who are fighting an ideological battle.

They should privitise it along with the NHS. The sooner these organisations have to generate revenues in order to survive then the sooner they will become efficient, stop wasting money and offer the public the service they deserve.

Once they are privitised we can lower taxes to get growth going in our economy.
