As far as I am aware, yes, they are allowed.
You should be able to find the definitive answer somewhere in the VOSA website, I would think. (Good Luck........)

There is a fair bit of legislation surrounding the remoulding of tyres, mind. You'll soon come across it.

They are legal, subject to a number of rules.

I am not sure whether you ask as a buyer of such tyres, or a seller. Personally, tyres are one of those things that I would be looking for the cheapest option on, especially if people I employ are going to be driving vehicles I own.

You would be looking for the cheapest option?... wow !!!....am glad I don't drive for you

    i see so many of these threads at the central resrervation or outside the hard shoulder in motorways. I think they have come off tyres while driving and potentially very dangerous. Imagine a HGV had rethreads and it came undone and smash a small car in the windscreen. It could drive the car out of control
