Doesn't seem that long ago that I joined UKBF but looking at my profile it was in 2007! Having being on a bit of a hiatus with the birth of my daughter nearly 4 years ago which resulted in me getting a full time job in the NHS as a Workforce Information Analyst, I've been spending the last few months trying to kick-start my business again as an additional source of income.

Website links that were broken are now fixed and pages updated slightly. My YouTube page is being filled with spreadsheet related videos rather than personal favourites. My business Facebook page is getting posts either via my Twitter feed or direct posting and I'm even posting to LinkedIn and utilising Instagram & Pinterest to try and drum up custom. Then tonight I remembered UKBF and how useful it was for contacts and business info so I'll now hopefully be posting and commenting again. Glad to be back.

I've just watched a couple of your YouTube videos, there's some really useful information on there that i'm sure i'll be using at some point.

Do you get any decent leads through your social media accounts? Facebook advertising has always worked well for us but I would be interested to know if any of the others give results.

Thanks. Had a few more sales of my ready to use template files since starting but hard to say the source. For YouTube I started off just recording the files I sell and then decided to start doing tutorial vids. I found an open source Captivate alternative called Active Presenter that allows me to quickly record my screen so find I can knock them out fairly quickly now when I know what to record. YouTube can be hard to get but it does allow easy posting to other media sites.

Instagram photos tend to get likes but some seem to be from spam type accounts but it's free and easy to do.

Would you recommend Facebook ads over Google ads?

Personally we seem to get a much better response from Facebook than Google. I also like the focus of Facebook advertising as we can target a specific age group with particular types of interests just within the Sheffield area, therefore when we get a lead it tends to be the right sort of one.

I only joined Twitter last night and i'm yet to look at Instagram and the others but I guess it can't hurt to join.

Good luck with the relaunch I hope it all works out, Matt.
