Hi all I gave my intention to resign today as an employee and as a director.
I have no contract ( written ) after 5 years am earning peanuts and have been offered a much better opportunity elsewhere.

I told my business partner and he went off the deep end, you have ruined my life I will go bankrupt without you so why dont you "f_ck" off and do what ever you want to do there is no point working any notice!

I am keen to know if I am OK to give 1 weeks notice, not that I wish to return to the office as I feel quite threatened

Advice appreciated

Hi,

I would check your company's articles of association as they will state how much notice a director has to give or if termination is immediate upon delivering notice. If your company doesn't have articles of its own then the company will be bound by Table A or the Model articles (depending on what year the company was formed).

Hope this helps.

This person's behaviour is unacceptable, but it doesn't matter, because you have a better job - well done.

Drop him a polite note saying that following his outburst of intemperature language you do not feel safe returning to the office. Having done that, do not return to the office. Start your new job, and I wish you all the best in it.

If your that important to the company then for the last five years you have been done over like a Kipper !!! You have been working for peanuts while being the pillar holding the building up !!!

You might as well not work any notice !!
